They let you easily connect multiple amps, while keeping the wiring neat for an attractive appearance.In comparison with the midrange and tweeter units, the woofer has a relatively higher moving mass, heavier voice coil and larger inductance, so it needs more current to start moving. This causes the bass to lag behind the mid and high frequencies, resulting in unnatural tonal coloration. Furthermore, because of its longer throw, the woofer's voice coil has a greater tendency to deviate from pistonic motion, resulting in non-linear dynamic distortion. To overcome these woofer shortcomings, "intelligent" bass servo drive circuit can feed very high current at the moment of start-up and instantaneously detect and correct the state of voice coil movement to maintain pistonic motion and avoid non-linearity. The result is bass that is more coherent with the rest of the frequency spectrum, achieving greater fidelity to the original sound.
